The University Computer Centre offers all employees the opportunity to use a virtual desktop. This is a virtual Windows desktop operating system (Windows 11) as you know it from your normal workplace with which you have your usual applications (Office / Outlook, etc.) and drives available.

Note: The service can currently only be accessed via VPN. You can connect via the specified address using a web browser (with reduced performance or speed) or via the Omnissa Horizon Client.
To install the client, click on the link above behind "Connection address". After redirection, select "Install Omnissa Horizon Client". In the client, also enter the above address as the portal address.

The service is similar to that of the application server, but only you are logged on to the virtual desktop and not other users in parallel. This means more security and speed for you. You can also customise the appearance of the desktop.
Attention: Your settings are saved in your home directory under W:\VDI_ in a virtual hard drive. All data that you save in the virtual desktop under Documents or on the desktop (desktop) is saved in this virtual hard drive - so never delete the W:\VDI... folder, otherwise your data from the virtual desktop will also be deleted!
