In order to ensure equal opportunities and in compliance with the prohibition of discrimination, all TUBAF examination regulations provide for compensation for disadvantages for students:

  • with a prolonged or permanent disability or illness,
  • for parents of underage children or
  • pregnant women,

insofar as they are unable to take examinations in whole or in part in the intended form or processing time.

The disability compensation for students with disabilities are not a privilege, but rather a form of study and examination performance adapted to the abilities of the students concerned. These disability compensation are intended to enable the achievement of equivalent academic records. There is no entitlement to a specific type of disability compensation.

The application for disability compensation must be submitted to the Student Office for a decision by the Examination Board.

Application document

The application must be submitted in good time before the start of the examination registration period, usually as soon as a possible claim becomes known.

To be attached

A current medical certificate must be enclosed with the application for compensation for disadvantages due to a disability or chronic illness.

The letter should contain the type and severity of the health impairment, a prognosis for the development of the impairment and, if applicable, medically recommended measures for compensation for exam-related disadvantages (see accompanying letter for issuing certificates - german version).
