Welcome to the website of the Doctoral Council!

The Doctoral Council (ProRat) of TU Bergakademie Freiberg is the representative body for doctoral candidates at TU Freiberg and was founded to represent the interests of all doctoral candidates at this university. In this function, it complements the Student Council and the Staff Council, with the interests of doctoral students taking centre stage. The ProRat is not an official body of the university, but is elected every two years as part of a general assembly of doctoral students.

On the one hand, the ProRat is a point of contact for all doctoral students who want to discuss individual questions or would like support with problems. On the other hand, it has a representative purpose and is thus integrated into the political landscape of the university. Our members represent the special interests of doctoral students in various committees and advisory boards. The ProRat is also integrated into a network of doctoral councils and other associations of mid-level academic staff.
