Services and functions of the student ID card (chip card)

| Validity | The new validity period can be printed after re-registration for the respective semester. You will find the validation terminals in the waiting area on the ground floor of the main university building and in the new University Library, 1st floor, access to the cloakroom. |

| Payment function in the canteen | Cash registers in the dining halls, in the cafeteria and at some coffee machines in the new canteen as well as in the café in the lecture hall centre The payment function can be used by inserting the ID card at the cash loading stations (foyer and large dining hall). Student ID cards can access the new Autoload function. You can find more information about this on the FAQ page of the Student Union. The payment function can only be used for food and drinks in the New Canteen. |

If the chip for the payment function or for access to the buildings is defective, it is possible to apply for a free replacement card at the admissions office after confirmation of the defect by the relevant offices (confirmation by the canteen for the wallet; confirmation by the control centre of the University Computer Centre for access to buildings).
If your student ID card is lost or destroyed, you can apply for a new card at the admission office, main university building, Akademiestraße 6, room EG.12. The cost for this is 16.00 euros.
