The Freiberg High Pressure Research Centre (FHP) is an interdisciplinary, university-wide research network of working groups that deal with geoscientific, materials science and materials science issues in the field of static and dynamic conditions of high pressures, usually more than 1 GPa.
The research covers the synthesis, transformation and behaviour of materials, substances and components under high static and dynamic pressures and, if necessary, in combination with high temperatures.
The FHP has been a Central Scientific Institution of TUBAF since 2022. This network emerged from the 1st Research College of the Dr. Erich Krüger Foundation and is closely linked to the central research facilitiesResearch and Training Mine "Reiche Zeche" (FLB), as well as the Centre for Efficient High-Temperature Material Conversion (ZeHS).
