At the start of your studies, there are courses to teach you the skills you need to study and to support you in the first few weeks of your studies.
Introduction to e-learning tools and online services
For all first-year students, the e-learning department and the IUZ are offering an online seminar on digital teaching. The seminar will introduce the central teaching platform OPAL, web conferencing systems and other online services for studying. The timetable and self-service for students will also be presented.
For first-year students on German-language degree programmes, the course will be held in German:

Study Sisters mentoring programme
The mentoring programme aims to support female students in a trusting environment at the start of their studies and give them the opportunity to share their questions, ideas and perspectives with experienced mentors and like-minded people.
In concrete terms, it offers support when starting their studies by means of
- mentors in advanced studies
- small peer groups of female first-year students
- workshops on managing their studies
- alumni evenings to exchange ideas with interesting personalities
