The TU Bergakademie Freiberg is part of the GÉANT framework agreement and uses the Certificate Authority (CA) offered as a certification authority. The contract with the previous Certificate Authority SECTIGO will be terminated on 10 January 2025. The certificates issued to date will remain valid until they expire.
What happens next?
In December 2024, DFN commissioned HARICA with the provision of browser-anchored certificates. DFN's current contract with HARICA is limited in time. DFN and GÉANT are already working on a permanent solution that does not require any further short-term migrations. The current functionality of HARICA's systems is sufficient for certificate provision, but not all of the workflows offered to date can be implemented. However, HARICA is working flat out to expand its offering.
