The URZ offers its users the service of a backup and archive system. Of user data on the central storage (shared directories for faculties, facilities, institutes, professorships and other working groups, personal home directories), copies of the 7 latest versions are kept in the backup for at least 30 days. If source files (or directories) are deleted, the 3 last generations are kept for at least 60 days. Deviating regulations (retention period also of deleted data up to 10 years) can be implemented upon request, provided there are sufficient central resources in the URZ.

If a user leaves the TU and his account is not converted to a guest user application, his data in the personal central home directory will also be deleted in the backup after 60 days at the latest.
