Studying in Freiberg - a good choice

TUBAF offers a wide range of Bachelor's, Master's and Diploma programmes, including unique courses such as Applied Science, Materials Science and Technology, Robotics and Engineering.

Practical orientation is our focus, and thanks to our intensive contacts in industry, our students can complete internships or theses with leading companies and research partners and establish contacts with potential employers.

International agreements and exchange programmes promote networking between students from all over the world and offer our students many opportunities to go abroad.

It is important to inform yourself before you start your studies in order to make the right choice. In order to get to know TU Bergakademie Freiberg in advance, there are a variety of offers, such as study fairs close to your home town, the Campus Day in January and in spring, our student university during the school holidays and much more. Study counselling

The first port of call for prospective students is the Central Student Advisory Service. It will answer your questions about studying in a personal counselling session, in a telephone conversation, by email or soon again in a web consultation. Here are some of the topics we advise on:

Starting your studies

Welcome to the start of your studies at the university! Our introductory and orientation programmes provide important assistance to help you get started with your studies. Pre-courses in the natural sciences, introductions to the degree programmes, services for registering for courses and mentoring programmes help you take your first steps at the university and get to know your contacts and fellow students.

Start of study

Before the start of the courses, the orientation and introduction days offer the opportunity to brush up on A-level knowledge in maths, chemistry and physics, our service exchange offers the opportunity to register for a sports course, lab coats can be purchased and you can get advice on IT issues. There are also offers for campus tours and to get to know the university city and a wide range of offers from the StuRa and the student councils.
