Bachelor, Master, Diploma
When preparing for a course of study, in addition to choosing a subject, one must also decide on a degree. The TU Bergakademie offers bachelor's, master's and diploma degrees.
Bachelor's degree
The Bachelor's degree is considered to be the first degree qualifying for a profession and is achieved after 6 to 8 semesters of standard study time. Depending on the course of study, after successfully completing the degree, one is:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
- Bachelor of Business and Law (BBL)
Master's degree
Building on a successfully completed first degree, a Master's degree can be used to deepen the knowledge acquired in the previous degree or to turn to a new field of science. At the TU Bergakademie, the following academic degrees are awarded upon completion of the program:
- Master of Science (M.Sc.)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Diploma degree
At our university, the diploma degree is possible in a natural science, engineering or economics subject. In connection with the specification of the subject, the diploma study leads to the degree as:
- Diplom-Naturwissenschaftler (z.B. Diplom-Chemiker)
- Diplom-Ingenieur (z.B. Dipl.-Ingenieur Maschinenbau)
- Diplom-Wirtschaftswssenschaftler (z.B. Diplom-Kaufmann)
Doctorate
The successfully completed Master's or diploma degree also opens the way to an academic career. The Graduate and Research Academy (GraFA) provides information about doctoral studies, supervises doctoral and post-doctoral students and offers a variety of additional opportunities for further education.
