The URZ has set up a system based on the BigBlueButton software. This allows video conferences to be held in a web browser.
The advantage of this solution is that all data is only stored on TU Freiberg servers and only secure transmission protocols are used. No special software is required to participate. All you need is a current Chromium-based web browser.
The BBB system is intended for the relocation of interactive events with up to 50 participants per room and is therefore particularly suitable for courses with comparatively few students as well as online consultations in groups.
Note: As part of the cooperation between the Saxon universities, TU Bergakademie Freiberg will in future use the BigBlueButton (BBB) service of Chemnitz University of Technology. This solution offers us the opportunity to use a proven and reliably operated web conferencing service. By using the free service, we can focus our resources on other IT services. Find out more
