The University Computer Centre offers its researchers (staff and students) the opportunity to carry out complex and computationally intensive calculations and simulations on a parallel high-performance computer (HPC).

The URZ currently operates a mainframe computer, the Compute Cluster 2019 with 4472 processor cores.

Scope of services

  • Operation of the local compute servers
  • First-level support at application level
  • Support when using higher-level HPC systems (especially at the ZIH of TU Dresden)

  • Centralised login
  • Purpose of use: Research and teaching
