Minecraft Meets Makers
Get to know TUBAF in a fun way
Countdown Freiberg is a non-commercial project. It has no official connection to Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation.
Do you love Minecraft? If so, you’ve already developed many skills that are also in demand in college. Creating worlds, discovering resources, planning strategically, solving challenges, and achieving great things together with others—these are exactly the skills that play a central role at TU Bergakademie Freiberg
With the interactive Minecraft quest series “Countdown Freiberg” you can get to know the university and the city in a fun way even before you start your studies. You’ll explore faithfully recreated locations, complete exciting missions, and delve into topics such as raw material extraction, sustainable technologies, and the circular economy. The adventure combines gaming fun with real-world issues of the future and shows how science shapes our world.
Even though it's a small university, that's its greatest strength. For one thing, everything is close by. Freiberg isn't big, and you can get anywhere on foot within 15 minutes at most. You're not just another number in the system; the lecturers know you, and there's still a real sense of community here. We also have our own mine, and who else can say that?
