CHE Ranking 2024

TUBAF scores with first semester support, new library and top study organisation

Freiberger first-year students receive optimal support at the start of their studies. This is one of the findings of the latest CHE ranking, which was published on 2 May 2024. This year's ranking analysed the subjects of chemistry, geosciences, computer science and mathematics. In all four subjects, the university received the top score of "very good" for support at the start of studies.

Top marks for Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Economics

Students from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science and Economics give TU Freiberg top marks in the current Hochschulranking des Centrums für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE), students rated TU Freiberg as having good to very good study conditions in several categories. They awarded particularly high marks for the good organisation of studies and for learning in small groups.

QS World University Ranking 2024

Good places in international rankings

In the 2024 QS World University Rankings by subject, TU Bergakademie Freiberg achieved 22nd place in the "Mineral & Mining Engineering" category worldwide and fourth place in Europe. The Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) ranks the university 62nd among German universities in terms of research performance in 2024/25.

TUBAF is one of the world's best universities

In the CWUR World University Ranking, TUBAF is ranked 1,519th out of 20,531 universities assessed worldwide, which puts it in the top 7.4 per cent of all universities. This ranking is based on objective indicators such as the number and quality of scientific publications and their citations.
