The next release came out this week. It includes new quick access menus, some new functions and various bug fixes.
New quick access menus
We have implemented three new quick access menus to make it easier to find important links.
- Service menu: At the bottom right of the monitor, similar in content to the previous service area.
- Faculties & Institutions: At the top of the header area.
- Direct links: At the top of the header area.
Design adjustments
Backgrounds
The light blue colour gradient of various backgrounds has been replaced by a more contrasting uniform light grey.
Tables
The tables in the integrated editor now have a visual design. Furthermore, header rows and columns and a table description can be defined.
Event overview
Expired event dates are automatically hidden by the system.
Adaptation of degree programmes
Four general degree types are stored for the degree programmes: Bachelor, Master, Diploma and MBA.
An additional detailed degree can now also be stored. This is maintained via a corresponding free text field.
The filtering on the degree programme overview is only carried out according to the four general degree types.
Images in the media directory
New image formats
The SVG/SVGZ format is now permitted as a file extension when uploading.
In general, uploads are now possible in the formats PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, SVG and SVGZ.
Display of copyright for images
For some images used on the website, it is legally required to label the copyright accordingly.
As soon as a copyright is stored on an image in the media directory, this text appears vertically at the top right of the image.
Note: If possible, the copyright text should be kept short so that it is fully visible depending on the image size.
Automated translations
We have implemented the DeepL integration as a test. This enables automated translation by the DeepL service. Currently, only selected roles are allowed to use the functionality.
Bugfix: Editing buttons in Firefox
Different button styles can be selected and inserted in the integrated editor. There was a problem in Firefox when subsequently editing these buttons, which has now been fixed.
Current developments
Group and authorisation system
The group and authorisation system has also been put through its paces by test users (editors from various areas) since CW34. Any errors and other information that arise are regularly documented and passed on to the service provider for testing and implementation.
We are working hard to be able to start onboarding the faculties, institutes and facilities in September.
Shibboleth connection
A current test version of the SAML module to be used has been on the test system since this week. We are in dialogue with the provider so that we can implement our configuration.
Web forms
The web form functionality is now on the production system. However, due to technical challenges, it is currently only available to selected roles. A comprehensive roll-out for all editors is unfortunately not yet possible.
