Information for PhD students at TU Bergakademie Freiberg

Has your letter of intent to pursue a PhD been successfully approved by the faculty?

If so, we recommend that you enroll in the PhD program.

This is available to all PhD students, regardless of whether they are employed by TU Bergakademie Freiberg (as a research assistant or scholarship recipient) or by another external employer.

Enrollment for doctoral studies

Applications for doctoral studies must be submitted online via the TU Bergakademie Freiberg university portal. After self-registration, the online application process begins and guides you through the online enrollment procedure.

Enrollment is limited to the duration of the doctoral period specified in the letter of intent. An extension of this period is possible with the approval of the supervising professor and the faculty council.

Note: Applicants who were previously enrolled at TU Bergakademie Freiberg and obtained their doctoral-qualifying degree here should also apply via the university portal
