Preliminary courses are offered for the degree programmes during the orientation and induction period. These prepare students for the demands of their degree programme and help to refresh or consolidate existing knowledge. We recommend that all new students take part in these to make the transition to university life easier.

Preliminary Chemistry Course 15 and 16 October 2026
The Introductory Chemistry Course is divided into an individual online course and group face-to-face sessions.

Please complete the online course in advance. On the dates listed below, the individual topics will then be reviewed and any questions or difficulties you may have encountered whilst working through the online materials will be addressed.
In-person preparatory course:
The in-person preparatory course will take place in Lecture Theatre B of the University Library (UBH-0205).
