Certificates are used on the Internet to encrypt and decrypt data and to create or verify digital signatures.

The TU Bergakademie Freiberg is part of the GÉANT framework agreement and uses the Certificate Authority (CA) offered through it as a certification authority.

Important note: We are currently rebuilding our website. Please understand that not all of the content linked here is yet available on the new website. Customer benefits

Employees and students of TU Bergakademie Freiberg can hereby obtain certificates. The certificate holder is responsible for the security of their private key! This must be protected against theft, misuse and loss.

Notes on the change of issuer:

  • It is no longer necessary to appear in person at a registration centre.
  • All certificates certified by the former issuer remain valid until their expiry date. However, server certificates can no longer be renewed.
  • If you use a certificate chain, you must replace it.
