Screen printing is primarily used for the precise application of functional materials to the surface of semiconductor wafers. A fine-meshed screen serves as a printing template through which paste-like or liquid materials are applied to the wafer in a targeted manner. Typical applications include the printing of conductor tracks, contacts or insulating layers. Screen printing enables even material distribution, high reproducibility and is particularly suitable for structured surfaces and thick-layered materials.
The HPAS 351 flatbed screen printer from SIMATEC has been specially designed for maximum precision and easy handling. With a maximum print format of 300 x 350 mm, the integrated table vacuum field offers optimum support for a wide range of substrates. The anodised aluminium table top, which is firmly pressed into the vacuum box, guarantees maximum evenness.
Thanks to the central height adjustment of up to 20 mm and a maximum unit load height of 20 mm, even thicker or more sensitive materials can be processed safely. The print table can be moved by +/- 10 mm in both the X and Y directions and tilted by up to 4° for the finest adjustments.
The HPAS 351 offers both manual and automatic printing operation, whereby the squeegee pressure can be set precisely using a pressure gauge. The squeegee design allows printing with either a single or double squeegee action, with or without intermediate flooding, providing an adaptable solution for different paste characteristics and specific printing requirements. The speed of the squeegee movement can be individually adjusted.
For maximum user-friendliness, all operating elements are arranged centrally on a panel at the front of the base frame. The screen mounting frame, including the squeegee unit, is opened and closed conveniently and safely using pneumatic cylinders. Thanks to the four clamping claws, the screen is reliably held in position during the entire printing process.
