Two high-performance chamber furnaces from the manufacturer Nabertherm are available at the institute: the HO 120 and the HT 16/17. The two devices cover a wide range of applications in thermal material treatment and enable precise, energy-efficient and documentable heat treatment on a laboratory scale.

The HO 120 is an angular top loader with a chamber volume of 120 litres and reaches temperatures of up to 1350 °C. The freely radiating heating elements are easily accessible and can be easily replaced if necessary. An infinitely adjustable air inlet opening in the base and an exhaust air opening on the side ensure efficient ventilation of the furnace chamber, which improves both temperature distribution and cooling times. The two-layer insulation structure with 30 mm microporous rear insulation ensures high energy efficiency. The oven is controlled via a user-friendly touch controller, which can be used to programme up to five programmes with four segments each. Process data can be recorded via USB stick and conveniently analysed and documented using Excel. The HO 120 therefore offers an optimum balance between minimised energy consumption and short cycle times.

The HT 16/17 is a high-temperature variant with a maximum application range of up to 1750 °C and a chamber volume of 16 litres. The double-walled, rear-ventilated housing made of textured stainless steel sheet ensures low external temperatures and high mechanical stability. Heating is provided on both sides by powerful molybdenum disilicide heating elements, while high-quality fibre insulation with special suspension contributes to thermal efficiency and durability. The parallel swing door with chain guide enables defined opening and closing, while a labyrinth seal minimises temperature losses. The resulting excellent temperature uniformity within the oven chamber is particularly noteworthy, as are the floor reinforcement with level stacking support and a motorised exhaust air flap in the oven ceiling. This oven is also equipped with a touch controller that can store up to 50 programmes with 40 segments each. As with the HO 120, the process data can be recorded and analysed using a USB stick.
