For various drying, tempering and storage processes, several modern drying ovens from Memmert are available at our institute. Depending on the application, the appliances differ in terms of their volume, temperature control, air flow and special functions such as vacuum operation or programmability. Below you will find an overview of the available models.
Drying oven UF 55
The UF 55 is a universal drying oven with a usable volume of 32 litres, in which up to three shelves with a maximum load capacity of 20 kg each can be used. The temperature range extends from 20 °C to 300 °C, with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C to 100 °C and 0.5 °C beyond, whereby the set temperature must be at least 5 °C above the ambient temperature.
The horizontal forced air circulation ensures even temperature distribution and increased air throughput thanks to a fan on the rear wall. The supply air is tempered in a preheating chamber before it enters the interior. The air exchange can be individually regulated via an air flap at the rear. An electronic control panel enables easy control of temperature, ventilation, heating duration and the setting of various programmes.
Drying oven UM 200
The UM 200 is an older model with a volume of 32 litres and a maximum temperature of 220 °C, which can be set with an accuracy of 1 °C. Here, too, up to three shelves with a load capacity of 15 kg each are possible, but ventilation takes place passively via the air circulation. Only the fresh air supply can be adjusted via a controller. The heating duration is set via an analogue timer with a maximum running time of up to 24 hours.
Drying oven BP 500
The BP 500 is also an older model, but has a larger usable volume of 108 litres. Temperature sequences can be programmed using the settings of the drying oven, which can save up to nine segments and automatically process a maximum process duration of 99 hours using an adjustable timer. The setting accuracy is 0.1 °C for the entire temperature range. External programme storage and expansion is possible via diskette.
Vacuum drying oven VO 49
The VO 49 is particularly suitable for sensitive or moisture-sensitive samples. The device works under vacuum and has a volume of 49 litres. Two thermoshelves serve as direct heat exchangers and enable uniform temperature control of the samples up to 200 °C. The setting accuracy corresponds to that of the UF 55 (0.1 °C to 100 °C with a subsequent accuracy of 0.5 °C).
The vacuum is generated via an external pump that is connected at the rear. Alternatively, operation with inert gas is possible, which is introduced via a separate connection. The temperature, vacuum and process duration, which allows a maximum duration of 99 days, can be set via a digital control panel and predefined programmes can be saved.
