Presentation of Asian book treasures from the VDEh collection

As part of the BHT, a presentation of the historically significant Asian writings "Nihon sankai meibutsu zue" (Illustrated guide to the famous products of the mountains and seas of Japan, 1797) and "Tiangong kaiwu" (Works of Nature and Labour, before 1885) in the special reading room of the Freiberg University Library.

The works were presented to Prof. Adolf Ledebur - the first holder of the Chair of Ferrous Metallurgy at the Bergakademie - as gifts, became part of the holdings of the library of the Verein Deutscher Eisenhüttenleute (VDEh) after his death and were acquired by the VDEh library by the University Library and returned to Freiberg.
