Hey folks,
the exam period is underway - and like every semester, the library is becoming your second home. So that everyone can concentrate on their work here (and no one trips over your rucksacks), there are a few important rules.
No stress, we'll explain everything to you in detail:
🎒 Bags? Off to the cloakroom!
Before you rush into the reading rooms: please lock your rucksacks & bags in the cloakroom.
Why?
- Less chaos, tripping hazards & noise
- More peace, order and focus for everyone
🧺 Baskets instead of chaos
You still need to transport books, laptop & water bottle? No problem - there are enough baskets for everyone in the cloakroom. Grab one, use it and please put it back after use.
Why?
- Lugging around was yesterday
- A tidy space = a clear head = better grades (maybe 😉)
📦 Book boxes - your study storage
Too much stuff for every day? You can rent book boxes in the reading rooms - for the whole exam period! You can get the key at the circulation desk on the 1st floor (during service hours).
Advantages:
- No daily removal of materials
- Everything where you need it - no lugging around
🚫🍕 Stay clean - for everyone!
In the reading rooms (1st. - 3rd floor) please do not eat or drink - water in a transparent bottle is okay.
For everything else: go to the cloakroom cupboard or straight to the library café on the ground floor (snacks + coffee = ❤️).
If something does go wrong (ink explodes or similar):
Report it to us.):
Report to the information desk on the 1st floor - our cleaning team will take care of it.
Why all this?
- No crumb festivals on the desk
- No stain fiasco on the floor
- Less food odour & more learning air
- Good atmosphere for everyone!
📆 Sunday opening hours - Yes!
From 20 July to 10 August 2025, the library will also be open on Sundays from 10 am to 8 pm.
But please note: No library staff there - borrow books at the self-checkout desk (1st floor) & return them at the return machine (ground floor).
Nice, isn't it?
- More flexibility when studying
- Chill weekend learning for early or late risers
📚Learning alone or in a group?
With us, you can do both! In our 3 reading rooms, you'll find suitable learning zones:
1st floor: it can get a little louder here
2nd floor: half loud, half quiet
3rd floor: for absolute quiet fans
💡 You need a room for your study group
No problem - there are group rooms on the 3rd floor that can be booked directly on site or online.
Between group power and concentration zone - the choice is yours!
The basic rule is: please no loud conversations, phone calls or music - everyone wants to study in peace.
Why all this anyway?
We want YOU to be able to study here in a concentrated and relaxed manner - and for ALL to experience the library as a fair and pleasant place to study.
So: stick to the rules, show consideration - and then you'll be fine for your exam. 💪📖
We wish you every success!
