Our university library catalogue is currently unavailable.

Here, we provide information on alternative search options and library services that remain available.

What is currently possible?

Searching in the library:
You can carry out research on site using an alternative catalogue. As usual, you can find the exact location of a book via our interactive guidance system.
Researching outside the library:
For your research, you can use, amongst other resources, WorldCat, the Journal Database (ZDB) and the Database Information System (DBIS), amongst others.
Access to e-books and electronic full texts:
Via publishers’ platforms, for example Springer, Elsevier or deGruyter, you can access our licensed full-text articles. A VPN connection to the campus network is required for this.
Library account:
You can also access your library account via the alternative catalogue on site, for example to renew loans or place holds. You can also view your library account and renew loans using the self-service terminals on the 1st floor.
Magazine subscriptions:
You can place orders via the Information Desk on the 1st floor or by email to ausleihe [at] ub [dot] tu-freiberg [dot] de (ausleihe[at]ub[dot]tu-freiberg[dot]de).

What are we working on?
Together with the University Computing Centre, we are working on making the alternative catalogue accessible outside the library as well. In this way, we aim to enable you to search the catalogue and access your personal library account once again.

What has happened?
An IT security incident at the University of Leipzig and the necessary security measures taken there are affecting the availability of the library catalogue in Freiberg, as well as at numerous other university libraries in Saxony and Germany.
The reason for this is the collaborative operating model of the finc consortium: the shared search engine infrastructure is operated by Leipzig University Library and, as a result of the necessary measures, is currently unavailable as usual.
