Where knowledge becomes a game!
The world of the library can be explored in an entertaining way at our games table. Games such as Memory or our card game "Dobble" pick up on typical library-related motifs and concepts and combine them with fun and reaction. The snake-and-ladder game "Goals!" playfully conveys aspects of sustainability.
Whether alone, with friends or with the family - a visit offers the opportunity to get to know the university library from a whole new perspective. An offer for all ages.
Scientific collections - infrastructure for research & teaching
| Exhibition | Viewing | Presentation
2nd floor | Special Reading Room
Gain a lively insight into the world of the TU Bergakademie's research and teaching collections.
There are more than 30 scientific collections at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, some of which date back to the 18th century. Built up for research and teaching, many of the collections have been intensively catalogued and in some cases reactivated in recent years. Some of these projects will be presented at the Night of Science - including exciting original objects.
Castles, beats & library
| Offer for children
3rd floor | Mixed Reality Space
Build castles, play beats and fly through space.
Guests can try their hand at castle-building under VR glasses in an interactive workshop for building castles and palaces, including dragons, unicorns and medieval music.
Those who don't have a steady hand can move to music of their choice. The VR app is called "Moonrider" and shoots red and green packages around your ears, which you have to destroy to the beat of the music.
What could be better for a long night than gazing at the stars? Nothing. Except flying into the stars under VR goggles. Become part of an adventurous space walk.
In addition, we answer questions about our VR learning spaces and are also happy to demonstrate real science apps.
