Scopus AI

New at the Freiberg University Library

As of now, Scopus AI is available to you as part of a campus licence and can be used via www.scopus.com.

Scopus AI is an AI-supported research tool based on the reliable and peer-reviewed content of the Scopus database. It helps you to familiarise yourself quickly and efficiently with new research topics, formulate complex questions and find relevant scientific literature.

The AI creates clear summaries based on the abstracts of selected publications, supplemented by references. This allows you to maintain an overview when searching the literature, even for complex topics.

Technically, Scopus AI is based on a vector-based search system that uses artificial intelligence to identify the most relevant articles from the Scopus database (from 2003 onwards). A so-called Sentence-Level Transformer is used to analyse your search query, identify suitable documents and generate a summary. This summary is consistently backed up with sources from Scopus.

The more specific your search query is, the more precise the answer from Scopus AI will be. As a rule, a summary takes up to 10 publications into account, in the extended view it can be up to 20. Factors such as topicality, relevance and citation frequency play an important role here.

Please note: Scopus AI is an additional module and is available exclusively through licensing by Freiberg University Library.

Just try it out - directly accessible with your university login at www.scopus.com.

If you have any questions or need support, the staff at the University Library will be happy to help.
