Advanced Literature Research – In-Depth Study & AI in Practice

Advanced Literature Research – In-Depth Study & AI in Practice

What is it about?

Spending hours searching only to overlook key literature in the end? For dissertations and research projects, you need more than just a basic understanding.

This advanced course will show you how to make targeted use of interdisciplinary databases such as Scopus, as well as specialised subject-specific databases and repositories, and collections of standards such as Nautos. There is a particular focus on AI: we’ll introduce the latest tools such as ChatAI, scienceOS and Consensus, and show you which tool is best suited to which application – including a handy overview to take away with you. Naturally, we’ll also clarify what is legally and ethically permissible when using AI.
This will enable you to reliably find relevant literature, save time and work with confidence from the initial search right through to the finished publication.

Contents

  • Systematic searches in specialist databases (Scopus, etc.), repositories, standards (Nautos)
  • advanced search functions, alerts and saved searches, snowball sampling and forward search
  • classification of AI tools; in-depth AI tools for academic research
  • A practical comparison of AI research tools
  • Data protection when using AI: legal and ethical boundaries
