The University Library of TU Bergakademie Freiberg warmly welcomes you to the start of the winter semester!
For many of you, the library will be an important place during your studies: this is where you will research, study, write – and, of course, ask questions.
To help you get started right away, we have summarised the most important information for you.
Where can you find us?
Visit us at Winklerstraße 3, right on the North Campus. Your student ID card will work automatically once you agree to all the terms and conditions in the self-service system. Only the use of the lockers in the cloakroom need to be activated once.

Important rules - short & simple
- no eating, but water in clear bottles is fine
- please store jackets and bags in the lockers
- in the reading room: quiet for focused studying
- set your phones to silent
- handle books, equipment and workspaces with care
Borrowing & Returning – here’s how it works
- you can find all media in our online catalog
- borrow items easily at the self-checkout station
- return them using the machine on the ground floor
- renew or reserve items online through your user account
- interlibrary loans can also be requested conveniently online
- And if you run into any problems: the information desk on the 1st floor will help you
