What is it about?
Did you know that letters from Goethe, the library and the handwritten papers of the mineralogist Werner, as well as precious incunabula, are just some of the treasures lying dormant in the University Library’s collections?
A particular highlight: our unique pneumatic, portable terrestrial globe (also in 3D) – a very rare, hand-coloured lithograph on English tissue paper in 12 segments. Plus coins, medals and much more!
We’ll take you on a journey of discovery through our library’s historical scholarly collections. Through fascinating examples such as old mining manuscripts or historical letters, you’ll experience first-hand all that lies hidden within our collections.
You’ll learn how to track down valuable historical treasures on your own – a fascinating insight for anyone with a passion for history and science.
