Library Day

Every year since 1995, the "Day of Libraries" has been held throughout Germany on 24 October.

The day is intended to draw attention to the more than 8,000 German libraries and their wide range of services. To this end, many libraries take the opportunity to highlight their role as important cultural and educational institutions with events.

Our programme

• Guided tours with a look behind the scenes

• Discover the library: a quiz for little detectives
  Meeting point: 1st floor. First floor
  For primary school age
   
• Ex libris and book collectors – (digital) insights into the alchemy treasures of the scientific old collection
  Meeting point: Special reading room, 2nd floor
