Dear graduates of the 2025/26 academic year,
congratulations on successfully completing your studies!
We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you – at the graduation ceremony, the subsequent get-together on Schlossplatz and the University and Graduates’ Ball under the motto ‘TUBAF International’.

Graduation ceremony
Doors open at 8.15 am, start: 9.30 am, Ends at approx. 11.30 am
Venue: Tivoli Concert and Ball Hall, Dr.-Külz-Straße 3, 09599 Freiberg
Registration: Attendance at the graduation ceremony is only possible following prior registration by 17 October 2026 via the registration form . Attendance is free of charge.
Accompanying guests: A maximum of two accompanying guests per graduate are permitted, as the venue’s capacity is limited.

Get-together with free beer and a group photo of graduates
from around 11.30 am to 1.00 pm

Farewell ceremony for PhD graduates and those who have completed their habilitation
Start: 2.00 pm
Venue: Senatssaal, Akademiestraße 6, Freiberg

Tickets for the Graduation Ball can be purchased from the Konzert- und Ballhaus from 9 September. Further information can be found on the event’s website.

FAQ on the morning graduation ceremony
Eligibility
The graduation ceremony is for graduates of the 2025/26 academic year who have successfully completed their Degree between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026. If you complete your studies after 30 September, you may still be able to attend this year’s event, subject to an individual assessment. Please note that, in this case, your name will not appear in the graduation register. Registration is required.
Dress code
We kindly ask you to wear formal attire appropriate to the occasion. Mountain smocks or traditional dress from other regions or countries are, of course, permitted. Graduation attire will not be provided for the ceremony at the Tivoli. If you would like to have your photograph taken wearing a gown, hat and sash, free items will be available for you to borrow at the get-together on Schlossplatz.
Photography
Photographs will be taken during the graduation ceremony. These will be made available to you digitally and free of charge via a download link after the event. You will receive an email to this effect at the email address you provided when registering. The group photograph taken on the Obermarkt will also be published here.
Accessibility information
The Tivoli Concert and Ball Hall is accessible to people with disabilities. The venue has an accessible entrance on the right-hand side.
Note on accessibility
The Alte Mensa has level access and a lift in the inner courtyard. If you or your relatives are dependent on a wheelchair, please let us know in advance so that we can reserve a suitable seat in the hall.
