Universities also have museum pieces: collections, gifts, artifacts. The custodianship of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg is exhibiting the most exciting pieces in the current exhibition “40 Years of Custodianship.” What makes it special is that students helped design the exhibition. We visited Dr. Andreas Benz (head of custodianship) and Bernd Spila (master's student in industrial culture).

The orientation weeks are starting, and we at Freiberg mit “e” want to offer guidance. The discussion at the Freshers' Info Exchange in the Freiberg University Library with Lecture Hall Center focuses on what TUBAF has to offer first-year students. Students Ben Brüssow and Debora Neuber report on get-to-know-you evenings and bingo in the Old Cafeteria in Freiberg, preliminary courses offered by the faculties and many other events for freshers. All information can be found on the Stura's first-year student page. Pia Kindermann-Bartsch from the Freiberg Student Services Association is also our guest. We talk to her about what students can do if they find themselves in a difficult situation - homesickness, fears, difficulties making contact. The Student Services Association's psychosocial counseling service offers help and support in such cases.

How do you explore the moon? Elias Leuschel is studying "Space Resources - Space Technologies" at TUBAF and provides exciting insights into the development of innovative technologies, sustainable resource extraction and recycling in space. In the podcast, he explains how he became aware of this unique degree programme. He also goes into depth: in "Scientific Diving", he trains real research missions under water - and thus builds a bridge between two extremes: space research and deep sea research.
