Right on time for December 1st, the local team of “Europa macht Schule” in Freiberg opened the door to this year’s coordination meeting. Teachers from schools in Freiberg and the surrounding area, as well as international students from all over the world, took part with great motivation and anticipation.
With cold temperatures outside, cookies, Christstollen, hot drinks, and more created a cozy, pre-Christmas atmosphere. An icebreaker at the beginning of the meeting quite literally warmed up the participants.
Afterwards, the local team gave the participants a closer introduction to “Europa macht Schule,” explained the structure of the program year, and provided advice and tips for developing the projects in which international students present their home countries interactively and creatively in a school class and relate them to Europe.
This was followed by plenty of time for individual conversations between the international students and teachers, allowing them to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and further develop them. In addition to matching teachers with international students, potential collaborations also emerged between students from the same home countries.
The coordination meeting was a great success! We look forward to many creative, passionately designed projects at our Freiberg location in the 20th anniversary year of “Europa macht Schule”!
