IAESTE organises specialist internships abroad for students of all technical and scientific disciplines.
There are placements both in industry and at research institutes. Most IAESTE internships last around 2-3 months and often take place in the summer. The internships are generally paid; the salary is based on the typical cost of living in the country at student level. The IAESTE committee abroad takes care of finding accommodation for you and is always available as a point of contact.
IAESTE Germany will take care of all the necessary formalities. Placement is free of charge for students enrolled in Germany. This is made possible by the integration of the IAESTE programme into the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
About IAESTE internships
To complete an internship abroad with IAESTE brings you a lot of advantages.
→ Free placement of paid, subject-related internships. The payment covers typical living costs in the country at student level.
→ Support before and during the internship by the respective IAESTE National Committee. Help with formalities (e.g. visa), finding accommodation or organising excursions and parties on site to make the experience perfect.
→ No time-consuming internship search. We provide you with the opportunities and all you have to do is prepare the application.
Other cool benefits:
- Application for an travel allowance (via the DAAD) for travelling to non-European countries
- Build a worldwide network of lots of nice people
- Check out the experience reports from previous internships
Prerequisites:
- Enrolment at a German university (at the start of the internship - some employers requires participants to be enrolled during their whole internship)
- English language skills
- Further skills required will be determined by the employer
1. Regular application:
By submitting an online pre-application, each interested candidate is included in the applicant pool. This pre-application can be submitted from October. Only students of TU Bergakademie Freiberg can apply for an internship with us.
Your account will then be verified once you have uploaded an English CV, a transcript of records in English, a valid certificate of enrolment in English and an English language certificate. You should then complete your profile so that we can search for a suitable internship according to your wishes. Details can be found on the Exchange Platform.
The deadline for submitting a pre-application is 31 December. The internships will then take place the following year (usually in the summer months).
You can also find more information (including experience reports) and forms on the IAESTE Germany website: Internship abroad
2. Direct application for the remaining places:
After the regular application period, profiles can still be created on the Exchange Platform during the current exchange year. Students can apply for the global offers all year round.
The application takes place in two steps.
