The biennial International Conference on Responsible Consumption and Production (INCORP) took place in Chania, Crete. As part of the EURECA-PRO alliance, the Institute for Machine Elements, Engineering Design and Manufacturing (IMKF) of TU Bergakademie Freiberg actively contributed to the event.

Our institute was represented by Prof. Dr. Henning Zeidler and Dr. Bahar Gharehpapagh, who delivered three presentations:

  • “Real-World Laboratories for Sustainable Innovation: Insights from the SAMSax Living Lab” (Prof. Dr. Henning Zeidler)
  • “Utilization of Agricultural Residues in Additive Manufacturing: Suitability Study for Binder Jetting” (Prof. Dr. Henning Zeidler)
  • “Sustainable Geopolymer 3D Printing: Materials, Methods, and Applications” (Dr. Bahar Gharehpapagh)

We participated to share our research in sustainable design, circular materials, and innovative manufacturing approaches with colleagues from across Europe. The sessions were very well received and sparked lively discussions with partner universities and stakeholders.

The atmosphere in Chania was inspiring and collaborative, offering the chance not only to present our results but also to exchange ideas, build new contacts, and strengthen cooperation within the EURECA-PRO network.

For our institute, the conference was an important step in expanding research visibility, exploring new joint projects, and contributing to sustainable innovation in Europe.
