TheAMter - additively manufactured props - the modern theatre
The objective of the overall project is to produce theatre requisites as prototypes using optimised and adapted additive manufacturing and to test them on stage.
The aim of the TUBAF sub-project is the successful material and machine customisation and additive manufacturing of requisites from wood residues using paste extrusion. In addition, a concept is being developed for implementing the manufacturing process and its process chain in the theatre workshop.
Research focus
- Paste extrusion
- biobased materials
- Circular economy
Tasks IMKF
- Production of at least 100 litres of usable wood powder from residual material from Chemnitz Theatre.
- Identification of at least one suitable drying process for use in the theatre
- 100 % reusability demonstrated on the basis of at least 5 cycle tests
- Production and drying of 2 prototypes (small: diameter < 0.4 m and large: diameter > 0.4 m)
Project duration
