Dnipro University of Technology (DniproTech) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EURECA-PRO and becomes the alliance's first official Associated Partner from Ukraine. The agreement, concluded without financial commitment, opens the way for DniproTech's gradual integration into the activities of the EURECA-PRO.

For TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the step builds on a long-standing partnership. TUBAF and DniproTech, together with Montanuniversität Leoben. deliver the international triple-degree master's programme Advanced Mineral Resources Development (AMRD), and have cooperated in the DAAD projects Biotechnology in Mining and EcoMining, the Erasmus+ project EdUp, and the ongoing virtual exchange project EdAccession.

Shortly after the signing,on 08.09.2026 TUBAF EURECA-PRO team met with Dr. Andrii Cherep, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Surface Mining, who coordinates the AMRD programme at DniproTech, to map out first joint steps. These include participation in the EURECA-PRO Flagships on Sustainable Mining and Resources, contributions to the Online Lecture Series 2026 on Sustainable Resources, and the involvement of DniproTech doctoral candidates in the EURECA-PRO Doctoral School. In the medium term, the partners intend to explore DniproTech's participation in EURECA-PRO joint degrees and in the alliance's work towards the European Degree Label.

With the association, a cooperation that has so far run through joint degree programmes, doctoral education and individual Erasmus+ projects moves into the structures of a European University Alliance. DniproTech brings substantial expertise in mining, energy and environmental technologies to EURECA-PRO, together with first-hand experience of sustainable transition under extreme conditions. For TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the partnership continues its long-standing support for Ukrainian higher education and contributes to a recovery of the Dnipro region built on the principles of responsible consumption and production.
