The Institute regularly welcomes new doctoral students and employees who enrich our research with their expertise, fresh ideas and innovative approaches and provide valuable input for future projects. Their different backgrounds and perspectives promote interdisciplinary exchange and strengthen collaborative work on scientific challenges and new discoveries.

We are very pleased to introduce our new PhD student Shaghayegh Ahmadi!
Shaghayegh is originally from Iran and already has an impressive academic background. After completing her Bachelor's degree with a thesis in the field of food science, she decided to further develop her expertise in the field of food safety. In her Master's thesis, she focused on the development and analysis of innovative sensor technologies for monitoring the quality of food by integrating them into the packaging. This involved working intensively with electrochemical and optical sensors that are able to monitor the freshness and quality of food. Since January 2024, she has been working as a PhD student in the Nanosensorics working group at the institute and is dedicated to the further development of these innovative technologies.
With her profound knowledge in the field of food safety and modern sensor technology, she enriches our team and we are very much looking forward to her future contributions!
