Dear friends of the Geosciences Collections,

in 2018 we received a collection of more than 400 pieces from the Mansfeld-Sangerhausen mining district from Mr Siegfried Flach from Damme, an honorary citizen of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. In addition to a large number of copper slate samples with ore rulers made of bornite, chalcopyrite or chalcocite from various shafts and often with exact location details, there are also some rare pieces in the collection.

On the occasion of the opening of the new special exhibition, a colloquium was held on 10 April 2025 in the large lecture hall of the A.-G.-Werner-Bau.
