In 2018, the Geosciences Collections received a collection of more than 400 pieces from the Mansfeld-Sangerhausen mining district from the honorary citizen of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Mr Siegfried Flach from Damme. In addition to a large number of copper slate samples with ore rulers made of bornite, chalcopyrite or chalcocite from various shafts and often with exact location details, there are also some rare pieces in the collection.
On the occasion of the opening of the special exhibition "Treasures of Mansfeld Mining", a colloquium was held on 10 April at 17:00 in the large lecture hall of the A. G. Werner Building.Werner Building
