The Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism is once again awarding funding for the Georgius Agricola Merit Scholarship for international students at TUBAF in the 2026/2027 winter semester. Applications can be submitted until 10 October 2026.
The aim of the Georgius Agricola Scholarship Programme is to attract and retain specialists and leaders for science, business and society in the Free State of Saxony.
Funding is available to international students, particularly those studying mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (STEM subjects).
Students must be enrolled on a diploma or bachelor’s degree programme and must have already completed at least two academic semesters of that programme.
International students on master’s degree programmes in the STEM fields from the second academic semester onwards are also eligible for the scholarship.
Applicants must also meet the following requirements:
- Evidence of outstanding academic performance
- German language proficiency at level B2 or above according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- Intend to pursue their professional career in Saxony
Further details of the Agricola Merit Scholarship are as follows:
- Scholarship amount: €300 per month
- Duration of the scholarship: 1 November 2026 – 31 March 2027
- Application deadline: 10 October 2026
