Chinese A1
The Chinese A1 course starts in the winter semester and lasts one semester. The course comprises 4 semester hours of lectures (2 x 90 minutes per week) and 4 semester hours of independent study. There are no prerequisites. Participation in the course is free of charge for students and doctoral candidates enrolled at TUBAF as well as for employees. A course fee of €30 per semester is charged for guests.
The participant understands statements on personally relevant topics as well as general statements in simple messages. They can handle very short, simple everyday communication situations and can write short, simple messages and notes. 4 CP and certificate on successful completion. The module ends with an exam (90 minutes). Admission to the examination is granted if active participation in at least 80% of the courses is fulfilled.

Chinese A2
The Chinese A2 course starts in the summer semester and lasts one semester. The course comprises 4 semester hours of lectures and 4 semester hours of independent study. The prerequisite is Chinese A1. Participation in the course is free of charge for students and doctoral students enrolled at TUBAF as well as for employees. For guest, a course fee of €30 per semester is charged.
The course develops the 4 language skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading. The participant is able to communicate in basic everyday and study situations in simple oral and written form. 6 CP upon successful completion. The module examination consists of a written examination in the areas of reading comprehension and text production (65 minutes) and an oral examination in the areas of listening comprehension and speaking (30 minutes). Admission to the examination is granted if active participation in at least 80% of the courses is fulfilled.
