Advanced Drilling Technologies and Subsurface Engineering

Advanced Drilling Technologies and Subsurface Engineering

The specialist colloquium ‘Advanced Drilling Technologies and Subsurface Engineering’ highlights current developments and research findings in modern drilling technology and underground engineering.

The focus is on new drilling methods, advanced rock destruction technologies, efficient fluid and flushing systems, and digitised and automated process chains that enable safe, precise and resource-efficient use of the geological subsurface.

Topics covered include energy and material efficiency, tool and process optimisation, applications from near-surface drilling technology, geothermal energy, and the use of the subsurface in the context of urban energy systems and infrastructure development.

The aim of the colloquium is to present current research results, pilot projects and industrial applications that show how advanced drilling technology can make a significant contribution to sustainable resource development, the energy transition and the intelligent use of the urban subsurface.

The event promotes interdisciplinary exchange between science, industry and administration and underlines the role of drilling technology as a key technology for a sustainable energy and raw materials economy.

This specialist colloquium will be conducted mainly in German. Some contributions will be presented in English.
