The University Preparatory Program (Studienkolleg) prepares international applicants for the Assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung, FSP), which is a prerequisite for admission to a university degree programme in Germany, in a two-semester course at Abitur level.
First apply for the desired degree programme at TU Bergakademie Freiberg via the uni assist application portal. If your application is successful, you will receive conditional admission with the requirement to take the assessment test. You can prepare for this examination in a preparatory course. You have the following options:
Attend the Studienkolleg Sachsen in Leipzig
- Attendance at the Studienkolleg Sachsen is free of charge, but the number of places is limited.
Attendance at the TUDIAS Studienkolleg at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg
- Attendance at the TUDIAS Studienkolleg at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg is subject to a fee.
A direct application to the Studienkolleg is not possible.
If you would like to register to attend the TUDIAS Studienkolleg at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, please send an email to studienkolleg [at] iuz [dot] tu-freiberg [dot] de (studienkolleg[at]iuz[dot]tu-freiberg[dot]de) and enclose the following documents:
- Notification of admission to the TU Bergakademie Freiberg
- Proof of German language proficiency at B1 level (certificate)
After we have checked your application, you will receive an invitation to take the entrance test in German and maths. Admission to the Studienkolleg depends on the result of the entrance test.
At the TUDIAS Studienkolleg at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, you can prepare for a degree programme in a mathematics, natural sciences or engineering subject in a T-course. The two-semester study preparation programme comprises 32 teaching units per week. The language of instruction is German.
The following subjects are taught:
- German (10 units)
- Physics (8 units)
- Mathematics (6 units)
- Chemistry (4 units)
- Informatics (4 units)
The preparatory course at the Studienkolleg lasts two semesters. Admission to the T-course at TU Bergakademie Freiberg only takes place in the winter semester.
Winter semester 2024/25
- Admission test: September 12, 2024
- 1st semester: September 2024 to February 2025
- 2nd semester: February to May 2025
- Assessment test: June to July 2025
The T-course at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg is subject to a fee and amounts to
- in the 1st semester: €3,000
- in the 2nd semester: €3,300 (including the fees for the assessment test)
During the preparatory study programme you will be enrolled at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
In the assessment test, applicants prove that they fulfil the linguistic, subject-related and methodological requirements for studying the desired degree programme at a university in Germany.
