• Costs: Participation in the course is free of charge for students and PhD candidates enrolled at TUBAF, as well as for staff. For auditors, a course fee of €30 per semester is charged.

• Course content: Participants will learn basic communication skills for everyday situations, as well as the Hiragana and Katakana writing systems using the Hepburn system, and Kanji in line with the vocabulary taught.
• Course materials: Marugoto A 1 Katsudoo and Marugoto A 1 Rikai (published by the Japan Foundation)
• Examination/Degree: 4 LP and a certificate upon successful completion. The module concludes with a written examination (90 minutes). Students will be granted admission to the examination provided they have actively attended at least 80 per cent of the courses.
