On 13 December 2023, there was a new delivery with technical updates to the Drupal system.
Fixed bugs
The following bugs have been fixed and also updated on the bugs overview page:
Group start page cannot be set to "unpublished"
Group start pages can no longer be set to "unpublished".
This means there is a workaround for the bug, as unpublished group start pages could no longer be published. In these cases, the entire group had to be recreated.
No access to external group home pages
When logged in, group editors had no access to the home pages of other groups, i.e. faculty, institute pages, etc. This was a side effect of only their own groups appearing under "Groups". This bug has now been fixed.
However, all groups are now visible under "Groups". It is recommended that you bookmark your own groups in the browser.
Missing translation for link lists
Link lists could only be created in one language version (except on group start pages). If they were translated, the translation also appeared on the other language version.
The bug was fixed with the delivery of 13 December. Please check all your link lists so that they are available correctly in both language versions.
Automatic URL aliases are generated correctly
It has been possible for some time to assign a manual URL for pages, e.g. tu-freiberg.de/fakultaet1, instead of the URL being automatically generated according to the page title (tu-freiberg.de/fakultaet-für-mathematik-und-informatik). So far, the problem has been that a subpage, e.g. a "Studies" page under the faculty page, has ignored this manual definition and uses the page title again instead of the defined abbreviation. Instead of "tu-freiberg.de/fakultaet1/studium", the URL was thus formed as follows: "tu-freiberg.de/fakultaet-für-mathematik-und-informatik".
This undesirable behaviour has now been fixed, i.e. subpages are based on the definitions of the parent pages when the URL is automatically formed. To customise your URLs, all you have to do as an editor is open the relevant page once in edit mode and save it again without making any changes. The URL is then created in such a way that specifications for higher-level pages are taken into account.
Notes
The old (usually longer) URL alias remains stored in the system. The existing links continue to work.
The automatic adjustment of the URL when saving only works if the checkbox "Form URL automatically" has not been removed. If URLs have already been adjusted manually by the central web team, it will not work automatically. Simply let us know in the chat or webteam [at] tu-freiberg [dot] de if you encounter any problems.
New bug: all English translations of the group start pages deleted
During the update, all English translations of the group start pages were deleted from the database for reasons that have not yet been explained. Subpages are not affected.
Since the data has completely disappeared from the database, the web team cannot fix the problem by restoring old revisions. Please recreate the English group start pages. We are communicating this serious bug to the service provider so that it does not reoccur with the next system update.
