Undergraduate Students
For experimental student projects, we assign topics in which the entire sequence of activities (sample preparation, processing, instrumental analysis, evaluation) is covered by the students themselves as far as possible. This is intended to familiarise the student with a wide range of scientific/experimental work and with the overall scope of research.
We do not list any topics of student work here, as these can become outdated very quickly. Please contact one of the research assistants or Prof. Leineweber for possible current topic suggestions.
Ph.D. students
Most of the PhD students in our group are financed by project funds from third-party donors (DFG etc.). Corresponding positions to be filled are offered by the TU Bergakademie. It is also possible to carry out research with a scholarship acquired by the candidate.
The same holds for "external" PhD students, typically funded by industrial partners or other institutions. As a department, we would like to play an active role in such projects, with a particular emphasis on gaining scientific knowledge.
