Invitation to the SDC Freiberg Annual General Meeting on January 23, 2026

The Scientific Diving Center Freiberg cordially invites all members and interested parties to its Annual General Meeting on January 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. This year, our meeting will not take place as usual in the Betstube of the Alte Elisabeth, but for the first time at the EAC (Agricolastr. 10a, 09599 Freiberg).

The Annual General Meeting offers the opportunity to look back on an eventful 2025 and to shape the start of the new year together.

Program highlights:

  • 2025 Year in Review: Presentation of the most important projects, excursions, and developments of the past year.
  • Participant Awards: Certification of last year's participants.
  • Technical presentations: Exciting insights into current topics and research in the field of scientific diving.
  • Social evening: Opportunity for exchange, networking, and a joint conclusion with a varied buffet.

We appreciate every commitment and every form of support. Culinary contributions to the buffet are particularly welcome – so if you would like to bring something, you will be making a valuable contribution to the success of the evening.

The SDC team looks forward to seeing many of you there and to an inspiring and enjoyable evening!

The Night of Science and Business took place in Freiberg on 25.05.2024. The Scientific Diving Center was also represented here with a stand.

The Scientific Diving Center (SDC) at TU Bergakademie Freiberg trains students and scientists to become scientific divers and conducts international research on underwater topics. Insights into this activity were provided in the diving tower during the Night of Science. Divers demonstrated their tasks and fields of activity live underwater, as well as the measurement technology used in their work. In addition to the operation of underwater measuring devices, the safety of the divers is the top priority in every mission. Furthermore, exciting research projects were presented with exhibits and videos and all questions were answered by experienced divers at the stand.
