This module is carried out as part of a diving camp and a diving expedition. The prerequisite for participation in the expedition is successful completion of the ‘Scientific Diving II’ module and a valid diving license.
In at least one diving camp (2 days) and a diving excursion lasting 10 to 14 days with usually at least 16 dives, participants must demonstrate that they can plan scientific tasks independently and lead a team for underwater scientific tasks. This includes the preparation of a scientific task, targeted dive planning, a team-oriented work concept, leading the joint preparation and follow-up of the underwater scientific mission as well as the complete documentation and assessment of the underwater task and its implementation and error analysis. Proof is provided by means of a final report.
