Leading role within the EURECA-PRO alliance at Review Week in León
The Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF) once again emphasises its leading role in European university development: As part of the current "Review Week" of the European University Alliance EURECA-PRO in León, Spain, a high-ranking delegation from TUBAF is working together with international partner universities on the strategic further development of one of Europe's most ambitious educational initiatives.
EURECA-PRO stands for a new generation of European universities. The alliance aims to fundamentally modernise academic education in Europe and create a common, cross-border education area. The focus is on excellent teaching, international mobility, innovative study models and the training of future specialists and managers for a sustainable and technology-driven society.
The TU Bergakademie Freiberg is one of the central driving forces behind the alliance and plays an outstanding leadership role, particularly in the field of education. Together with the partner universities, TUBAF is shaping new European study and teaching formats, developing innovative digital learning concepts and driving forward the international networking of students and academics.
A particular focus is on promoting student exchange within the consortium. The aim is to give students the opportunity to study flexibly at several European universities, gain international experience and move within a common European scientific area. EURECA-PRO thus creates new perspectives for academic mobility and a Europe-wide networked education at the highest level.
In addition, EURECA-PRO plays a unique pioneering role internationally: EURECA-PRO is the world's first university alliance to systematically bring the United Nations' sustainability goal SDG 12 ("Responsible Consumption and Production") to life and consistently develop it further in the areas of teaching and research through specific European flagship projects. The alliance combines scientific excellence, technological innovation and social responsibility to create a new European education and research model.
With its interdisciplinary approaches and international structures, EURECA-PRO is revolutionising the European research and education landscape in the field of sustainable resource and production systems. For the first time, research, teaching and innovation will be so closely interlinked across Europe that an integrated knowledge and education area will be created that directly meets the challenges of the 21st century.
"EURECA-PRO is much more than a university network - the alliance stands for the future of university education in Europe. Together, we are developing new educational standards, strengthening international cooperation and creating sustainable structures for the next generation of European science and innovation," emphasised the delegation from TU Bergakademie Freiberg in León.
During the Review Week, the member universities will analyse the progress made by the alliance to date, coordinate future projects and define joint strategic goals. The intensive collaboration illustrates the extraordinary dynamism and strength of EURECA-PRO as a Europe-wide innovation and education network.
As a university alliance funded by the European Union, EURECA-PRO brings together leading universities from several European countries. Together, they pursue the vision of an integrated European university that networks research, teaching and innovation internationally and consistently focuses on the challenges of the future - from sustainable resource management to digitalisation and social transformation.
With its active role within EURECA-PRO, TU Bergakademie Freiberg is positioning itself not only as an internationally visible scientific institution, but also as one of the driving forces behind the reshaping of the European higher education landscape.
